My blog is about mainly art, to go along side my work from art foundation, but there will be random, unrelated bits too :).

PAINT
So, the other week was the painting project and these were my final outcomes :).
I'll be honest, I think they need more, I'm not sure if I completely like them but I don't think that they're bad for first attempts.
I'm not a fine artist at all so it was quite out of my comfort zone but I did enjoy it. I love painting ! I think I generally love making a mess as that's pretty much what I did for the majority of the week. I ruined several items of clothing because I'm clumsy and manage to get paint EVERYWHERE. Oopps. However, my friend I did find that if we wet the fabric before the paint had dried, used a little soap and a toothbrush (yes, she had a toothbrush, art for you) it seems to come out okayy :).
Anyway, enough about making a mess, I prefer the one at the bottom even though the white bits shouldn't be there but the masking tape ripped it. But, yeah, I just like it better, the paint is layered in a nicer way :).

These were all from the paper project we did as the first week of the diagnostic stage of Art Foundation. The drwaings were A2 pieces we did as development and the books are my final outcomes.
Charcoal drawings as part of development stages.
This piece took me soooooo long. I spent about 5 hours cutting through 300 pages of the book and folding them all back.
This book was an old Alice in Wonderland book that I'd already cut up for a previous project but I used it to create a little narrative :).
The story I made makes no sence whatsoever :). Something about a Monster, Unicorn, Lion, and cake.
Overall, I'm quite pleased with them. I think they look quite nice really :).

First Post !
So, my first post ! I thought of nothing better but to start by sharing one of my all time favourite photographers. Her name is Eleanor Hardwick, a girl of about 17/18 (I think?) who shoots some beautiful things. You would never believe that she is as young as she is as all her work has a proffessional style to it. She has done commissions for Jack Wills, Oasis, Harper's Bazaar Magazine and many, many more. Her work is focused mainly on fashion photography but there are documentive elements to some images and there seems to be a narrative with a lot of shoots. I've linked to her flickr stream but she also has an online portfolio. I recomend that you have a look through because some of the work is increible for someone so young.
Hardwick's work is such an inspiration for me and actually made me experiment more with different techniques and effects. I have taken a lot of influence from her work over the past year or so in which I discovered her work and I know I will be continuing to do so !
